Synopsis :
For those who like sport of boxing, the name of Mickey Ward (Mark Wahlberg) may already be familiar. Irish boxer nicknamed it even been considered a 'hero' for people of lower classes, especially the citizens of Massachusetts. Travel Micky is not as easy as you might imagine. Various obstacles had he set it aside until he managed to become a legendary boxer.
Micky Ward was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, and he became an amateur boxer until 1985. From a record 51 times this match with 38 victories matches the best known is the game trilogy against Arturo Gatti. Of course, Micky Ward was not fend for themselves. He could not have done it without the help of Dick Eklund (Christian Bale) who became his coach.
Dick Eklund is actually a half-brother Mickey who had a career as a boxer, too. Dick's career was good although he was eventually defeated by drugs. Trying to make amends, Dick then became coach of a young boxer Micky and take it to the world title that he retake the pitch in London.
